[ When the feed suddenly opens, a dark-haired kid with bright blue eyes can be seen staring intently at the screen for a few seconds. Then it suddenly becomes saturated with bright pink and a smiley face, the stuff of anyone's pink-induced nightmares. One adjustment of the camera later, it becomes clearer that the bright pink thing is in fact a bright pink blob otherwise known as a Ditto. But once again, the kid shows up right above the blob. ]

I have an important question. Actually, I mean "questions". But for now...

[ He starts poking the top of the jelly blob, watching it jiggle slightly in response before returning his attention to the feed. ]

Can this dem-- Pokémon blink? Just wanna know if staring contests would be fair or not.

[ At that, the Ditto's smile turns upside down. The kid spares a glance downwards and pokes it again. Leaving it to pout, he looks back at the screen, poker face still in place. ]

But if you can't answer, that's fine. I'd settle for someone helping me figure out where I am instead, because I'm totally lost.

[ And in a ridiculously sudden manner, his poker face switches to a rather friendly smile. ]

Aaand that's all for now. Bye-bye! ♪

[ He then starts waving at the camera, his Pokémon half-heartedly joining in a few seconds later before it starts moving and the screen fades to...pink. A muffled voice can be heard in the background after a moment. ]

...Ah, I don't think that's how we turn this off.

So this is a Ditto? [ Weird name. ] Does it blink?

[ And at that second part, his tilts his head quizzically. ]

That doesn't sound like somewhere in Japan to me.

Yeah, about that... We're in a different world entirely. We're not in Japan right now.

Okay, so chances are this isn't the Earth I know.

[ As skeptical as he is of this fishy situation, it's for the best that he stays calm and hears everyone out. ]

So what's the deal with this world?

It's a world based on Pokemon! You either start off as a trainer or a breeder in New Bark Town. But I heard of people starting off in Mahogany before, which is like hard mode.

We basically travel around Johto and do our roles, but it's really up to you.

So this place is either New Bark or Mahogany... Okay, I got that.

[ Looking down at that Ditto again. Well, he never really was that into Pokémon, so he couldn't remember what it was offhand. And considering what was happening back home, his first thought was "demon". ]

What I don't get is why I'm here. I don't exactly remember signing up for a game.

If 'Mom' woke you up and the local Pokemon are low leveled, then you're in New Bark.

[His first thought when he came here was wondering if Babel's giving him a test, or an illusion as a security system. But it's getting harder to believe that it's an illusion...is it?]

That? No one really knows for sure why we're here.

[ Ahh, 'Mom' the staring contest breaker. New Bark it is. More importantly... ]

Maybe it's the work of demons.

[ What? It's completely plausible. ]

...Demons? You got them in your world?

[With all the different kind of people coming in, demons might be common and normal somewhere.]

Recently, yeah. Though I guess should say they've always been around.

Kind of like my world. Though I didn't know they're around until 'recently' back home.

[ It's rather sad to think that may be common... ]

Maybe the demons are trying to get our guards down with cute monsters and innocuous background music. Then they'll make their preemptive strike of doom.

...Or something like that?

So using the beloved, childhood monsters as their disguise, they slowly gain our trust and then...bam.

[He looks so serious, until he glance at to the side and talk to someone for a bit. 'No, I don't mean you, okay?'.]

Sudden bad end. We'll have to restart the game.

[ He looks down for a moment and starts poking his slightly pouty-looking Ditto. Didn't mean anything bad by it, little blob thing! ]

Or restart back at our last checkpoint.

[He pats his Clefairy, before turning his attention back to the 'Gear.]

Which are normally Pokemon Centers around here.

Blink? [ What an odd question but ... now that he mentioned it ... ]

...oh, my. I don't believe I ever saw one blink before.

We can't save anywhere? Too bad. Though I guess that would make things too easy.

So that's a vote for "no" then.

[ The Ditto seems to be doing it's best to look innocent when Hiro stares at it. ]

I was wondering because...it [ He'd have to ask about Ditto's gender too, now that he thinks about it. ] won the staring contest we had earlier.

[ Amused by this. A staring contest? With a ditto? How very odd. ]

... then the contest is probably invalid if ditto doesn't blink in the first place.

It's more like auto-saving after we get to a Pokemon Center. But yeah, it would be too easy and exploitable otherwise.

[ Staring contests...? ]

Um, I think they can! I mean, I've seen some of my Pokémon blink before. [ As if to make a point, the Happiny she's currently holding in her arms, blinks at the boy. But then again, she doesn't have a Ditto, so! ]

Yeah, I was thinking it wouldn't be fair if Ditto here naturally couldn't blink. That'd just be a rigged game.
